Meet Tracie Bell
Director of Education
With more than 40 years of experience in the beauty industry, Tracie brings extensive hands-on expertise, passion, and knowledge to Beauty Theory Academy. As a hairstylist and former 12-year salon owner, she understands the dedication, skill, and commitment required to build a successful career in the beauty industry.
For the past 17 years, Tracie has served as an educator, mentoring and inspiring the next generation of beauty professionals. Her experience behind the chair and in the classroom has shaped her vision for an education that goes beyond the basics.
Tracie’s mission is to provide students with more than the skills needed to pass their state board exam. She is dedicated to helping students build confidence, professionalism, creativity, and real-world skills necessary to succeed behind the chair and beyond.
Meet Gail Girard
President
Gail brings a diverse professional background spanning healthcare, education, corporate leadership, and entrepreneurship to our school. She began her career as a registered dietitian in a hospital setting, where she developed strong skills in patient care, interdisciplinary collaboration, and regulatory compliance. She later served as an adjunct educator at the junior college level, where she provided instruction, guidance, and mentorship to students.
Gail’s corporate experience includes roles focused on patient satisfaction, leadership development, and staff training, giving her valuable insight into effective leadership, team development, and creating positive learning and working environments.
For the past 12 years, Gail has owned and operated a successful custom apparel business, gaining firsthand experience in the many aspects of running a business, including staffing, scheduling, financial management, marketing, operations, and customer service. She brings this combination of educational, leadership, and entrepreneurial experience to our school, helping support our vision of creating a strong educational foundation, positive student experience, and sustainable path to success for our future beauty professionals.

Meet Jessica Guzman
Director Operations
Jessica is a licensed cosmetologist, Redken Artist, cosmetology educator, and trained esthetician with 11 years of experience behind the chair and 7 years dedicated to education. Her career has been deeply rooted in Redken, where she has continued to expand her expertise in professional hair color, advanced techniques, product knowledge, and salon education.
As a Redken Artist, Jessica has had the opportunity to educate and inspire fellow beauty professionals, bringing Redken’s focus on education, innovation, and science-backed haircare into her approach to teaching. Her experience with Redken has strengthened her passion for understanding the why behind every technique—not simply teaching students what to do, but helping them understand the principles that allow them to create confidently and consistently.
In addition to her expertise in cosmetology, Jessica is trained in esthetics and is Skin Script and PCA certified, giving her a well-rounded perspective across hair, skin, and beauty services.
Jessica combines her years behind the chair, experience as an educator, and continued connection to the professional beauty industry to create a modern, hands-on learning experience. Her goal is to help students build strong foundations, develop technical confidence, and leave prepared to pursue a successful career in the beauty industry.
